Mr. Lonnie Ray “Stymie” Moreland of Albany, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston, Tennessee, having attained the age of 70 years, 5 months, and 6 days. He was born on Sunday, February 5, 1956, in Albany, Kentucky, the son of Marvin Powers & Anna Myrtle (Ferguson) Moreland. He was of the Baptist faith and worked in surveying and farming. Lonnie enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father & mother-in-law, Glenn & Aileen Sawyers (Duvall) Russell, siblings, Shirley Lowe, Agnes Conaster, Betty Polson, Clayton Moreland, Ralph Moreland, Phyllis Boils, Faye Chambers, and Ricky Moreland.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo (Russell) Moreland, whom he wed on February 5, 1977; children, Teresa (& James) Garrett, Vickie (& Tommy) Aaron, Ashley (& Julius) Spears, Jodie (& Stacey) Cash, Lonnie (& Sarah) Beaty, Anthony Beaty; siblings, Ronnie (& Holly) Moreland, June (& Howard) Poston, Leon (& Janice) Moreland; grandchildren, Taylor Cash (& Michael Wilson), Jessica (& Tyler) Garrett, Gabby (& Ely) Baker, James Andrew (& Bailey) Garrett, Jacob Garrett (& Taylor Madison), Justin Garrett (& Leah Shoemake), Brady Coe, Hayden Coe (& Linden South), and Chyson Spears; great-grandchildren, Cash Witcher, Oliver Garrett, and James Kaysen Ray Garrett; and a great-granddaughter on the way, Sadie Rhael South.

The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, after 6:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday morning after 6:00 am until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the Wray Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky.
