Lula “Madge” Galyon, 93
Lula “Madge” Galyon, 93, a lifelong resident of Kingston, Tennessee passed away in the early morning hours Monday, November 25, 2024.
Madge was a dedicated member of Young’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Kingston, Tennessee. She retired after 30-plus years of service from the Burlington Hosiery Mill in Rockwood, Tennessee. In her spare time, Madge enjoyed being outside working in her yard and garden. Most evenings, she could be found sitting on the front porch of her childhood home waving at all the passersby on Lawnville Road.
Madge was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Houston and Stella Maude Jenkins Galyon; a sister and brother-in-law, Addie and Donald White Sr.; brothers-in-law, Edward Gallaher and Alfred E. Smith Sr.
She leaves behind two loving sisters, Madie Gallaher of Kingston and Ethel Smith of Collinsville, Alabama; along with a host of nephews and nieces who will miss her greatly.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Fraker Funeral Home with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Reverend Dale Watson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lawnville/Young’s Chapel Cemetery in Kingston. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald White Jr., Calvin Gallaher, Dwayne White, Roger Gallaher, Michael Gallaher, and Elijah Gallaher.
