Mrs. Maria Buchannon, age 58 of Rockwood, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.

Her life was about her kids and grandkids. And she was loved by everyone who met her. She volunteered for 30 years with Fantasy of Trees for the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. She spent her working career in service at Wayne’s Cafe and Cracker Barrel. She is preceded in death by her mother: Alice Faye Sinclair. She is survived by:

Husband: Dale Buchannon

Children: Porsha Reed (husband Ryan)

Dilon Poland

Step Children: Drew Buchannon (wife Kelli)

Emily Weidner (husband Travis)

Grandchildren: Gage Weidner, Addie Reed, Ella Reed, Letty Jane Weidner, Mia Weidner

Brothers and Sisters (still living): Sherry Griffith, Eddy Summers, Kim Colvard, Steven Summers

And many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 2:00pm ET at Dogwood Meadows (1877 Dogwood Road Rockwood, TN 37854). Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Maria Buchannon.
