Marilyn Kay Clower, age 60, of Sparta, passed away on March 15, 2026. She was born April 16, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Dallas and Elizabeth Barnes Brendel. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She loved taking care of her family, especially cooking for them. She enjoyed yard sales and going to thrift stores.

She is survived by her sons: Jason Clower and Daniel Clower Jr., both of Sparta; daughter: Kristal Sherrill (Robert Willis) of Sparta; sisters: Christine Brendel of Crossville and Anita Cochran (Sammy) of Dalton, Georgia; sister-in-law: Sandra Brendel of Dalton, Georgia; and a host of special grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Starla Colwell; granddaughter: Makayla Manning; and brother: Ronald Scott Brendel.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, at 8 p.m. at Hood Funeral Home in Crossville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m., two hours before the service at the funeral home. Graveside Committal will be Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Pomona Oak Lawn Cemetery.
