Marjorie L. Garcia, 94
Marjorie L. Garcia, 94, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away at her home into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
She was born in 1931 in Ithaca, NY, daughter of the late Homer Miller and Marjorie (Gee) Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear sister Mary Munch, beloved husband Paul A. Garcia, grandsons Andrew Ribeiro, Daniel Ribeiro, and her oldest and best friend, Eunice Crumb.
For many years she worked as a film librarian for the Ithaca, NY, school system. Peg had a homemaking and creative streak which extended to baking, canning, sewing multitudes of projects, and designing baby quilts for her grandchildren. She found joy in simple things like cooking for her family, writing poetry, and watching the birds outside her window. She was witty and engaging, striking up conversation with anyone she happened to meet. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling, visiting Italy three times and driving all over the United States to see family and friends. She loved to read and study her Bible by the hour, and attended First Presbyterian Church when she was able.
She is survived by her children: Susan Ribeiro of Perkiomenville, PA; Janet Garcia of Crossville, TN; Paula (Wayne) Demary of Sparta, TN; Cynthia (Brian) Buckley of Crossville, TN; Timothy (Nancy) Garcia of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren: Paul Ribeiro; Becca (Steve) Lacock; Margie (Joel) Comanda; Rachel (Aric) Elsenheimer; Julie Ribeiro; Joshua Ribeiro; Joshua Garcia; David Garcia; Zachary Garcia; great-grandchildren: Eliot (Emily) Comanda; Simon (Eliza) Comanda; Jesse Comanda; Nora Comanda; Isabel Ribeiro; Ava Ribeiro; Ethan Ribeiro-Edinburg; Bianca Comanda; Matthew Garcia; Aidan Lacock; Evelyn Lacock; Luke Ribeiro; Tug Elsenheimer; Robin Elsenheimer; Zander Garcia; and several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held later at the convenience of the family.
