Mary Marie (Smith) Jackoski, age 91

Mary Marie (Smith) Jackoski, age 91 formerly of Clarkrange, TN passed away on January 17, 2022, at her home in Chandler, AZ surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Akron, Ohio on March 20, 1930, and moved to Clarkrange, TN as a child where she grew up with her siblings Gloria Smith Rugland and husband Robert, Robert Sherman Smith, and wife Gloria, and Helen Smith Allred and husband Clayton. Mary’s love of horses and the farm which her parents Ode Sherman Smith and Tressie Marie Smith provided fueled her competitive spirit both in school and athletics as the high school class valedictorian and basketball star. She moved to Nashville for studies in the insurance industry where she meet her soulmate, Edward B. Jackoski a sergeant in the United States Airforce. Mary and Eddie traveled the world together and raised Keith Edward Jackoski their only son with assignments in West Palm Beach, Oklahoma City, Greensboro, Tacoma, and Germany. Mary’s career advanced her at Metropolitan Life for over 40 years until her retirement in 1993. Upon retirement, Mary and Eddie became grandparents and assisted in the care of their grandchildren Matthew and Nickolaus Jackoski for afterschool activities and spoiling with love and affection. At the end of Mary’s life, Eddie, Keith, and his wife Claire, Matthew, and wife Briana and Nickolaus embraced her with prayers of peace, music that touched her soul, and stories of a life well-lived with gratitude for her generosity and passion for her family.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Edward Jackoski, son Keith Jackoski and wife Claire, grandchildren Matthew Jackoski and wife Briana and Nickolaus Jackoski, her sister-in-law Gloria Smith (Wife of Sherman), her brother-in-laws Clayton Allred (Husband of Helen) and Robert L Rugland (Wife of Gloria), nieces and nephews Jan Harshaw, Kelly Nelson, Crystal Kunz, Brian Smith, Anna Lisa Fontentot, Susan Muhsemann, Debbie Boeck, Kenneth Allred, Tommy Licurgo, Michelle Licurgo, Carol Yackoski Weisenberger, Michael Yackoski, Stan Yackoski, Kenneth Martin, Debbie Moraka, Tony Yackoski, Rodney Yackoski, and Robbie Yackoski. A host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other families, and friends.
A graveside service will be held with Jennings Funeral home at the Clarkrange Cemetery on May 14, 2022, at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
