Mary Melton Holley, 85

Mary Melton Holley, aged 85, passed away on August 6, 2025. She was a co-owner of Bonnie’s Restaurant, a well-regarded establishment in Harriman during the 1970s and 1980s. Mary was actively involved in her community through membership in the Harriman Jaycees and service on the Harriman City School Board, the Harriman Temperance Committee, and the Roane County Equalization Board. She was also a dedicated attendee of the Harriman United Methodist Church.
Mary shared over sixty years of marriage with her husband, Charles “Buddy” Holley, with whom she travelled extensively and enjoyed a fulfilling life. Her commitment to her family was paramount; she especially cherished her husband and daughters. She was an accomplished seamstress, had an eye for decorating, and enjoyed hosting gatherings. Known for her vibrant, loving personality, she was often described as someone whose presence could light up any room.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mona Jackson; parents, Bonnie and Roy Melton; brothers, Johnny, Elbert, and Steve Melton; nephew, Shane Melton; and sister-in-law, Darla Melton.
Mary is survived by her husband, Charles “Buddy” Holley; daughters, Dina Jackson and Jill Holley (Kevin Smith); brother, Tom Melton (Carole); grand dogs, Bella and Vinny; nephews, Larry Melton, Troy Melton (Marla), Bryan Melton (Shanna), Jon Carriglitto (Lana), and Kody Melton; and nieces, Pam Shields (Gary), Stephanie Barnes (Bubba), and Brooke Kelley (Jack).
Visitation will be at Kyker Funeral Home, 430 Morgan Avenue, in Harriman, TN on Tuesday, August 12th from 11 am – 1 pm and funeral services to follow at 1 p.m.
