MEMPHIS MAN CHARGED WITH STRANGLING FRIEND WITH CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
A 37-year-old man was indicted on second-degree murder charges related to the strangulation of a friend during an argument at a Memphis, Tennessee apartment. An investigation showed that Hans Banks and his friend, 59-year-old Joseph Hurdle, were at Banks’s apartment on East Cabana Circle when an argument turned violent. Banks reportedly told authorities that he strangled Hurdle with a string of Christmas lights and left the apartment in Hurdle’s vehicle. He later flagged down police officers near a fast food location and told them there was a dead body in his apartment. Hans Banks is being held on $500,000 bond.
