MERTIE LOU RECTOR, age 71 of Crossville, TN passed away April 4, 2026. She was born July 7, 1954 in Crossville, TN the daughter of Ruble and Lillis England Hopper. She was retired after sixteen years with Master Brand as a supervisor and was also a member of Cook Rd. Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband- Gayron Wright of Crossville, TN, son- Freddy Lynn Rector and his wife Kay of Crossville, TN, brother- Billy Hopper and his wife Sue of Crossville, TN sister- Bobbie Carter and her husband Bob also of Crossville, TN, grandson- Gage Smith and his wife Sydney  and she also leaves her beloved pet Halo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter- Frenda Smith, grandson- Eugene Smith and brother- Donald Hopper.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 8, 2026 at 2pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12noon-2pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
