MONTEREY MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING COPPER IN TORNADO DAMAGE AREA
Putnam County deputies arrested a man for criminal trespassing in an area affected by Tuesday’s EF-4 tornado. Officers responded to a call to backup a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer who was working security in the tornado damage area. A curfew was in place at the time of this incident. Authorities found 35-year-old Joshua Hayes of Monterey allegedly collecting copper wiring from a damaged residence on Clemmons Road. Hayes was taken to the Putnam County jail.
