MONTEREY MAN ONE OF TWO CHARGED WITH MURDER

Two men are charged with murder in Putnam County.
The case goes back to June 11, 2023. On that day, officers responded to a hotel about an unconscious male. They discovered 48-year-old Angel Fernandez deceased.
Through the investigation, it was determined that Fernandez died of an apparent drug overdose.
On July 3, 2023, detectives responded to a medical call at a residence where it was later determined that 45-year-old Angela Stults died from an apparent drug overdose.
During the investigation of both cases, it was determined that 49-year-old Johnny Bohannon of Cookeville provided narcotics mixed with fentanyl to both decedents which ultimately caused their deaths.
Both cases were presented to the Putnam County Grand Jury and Bohannon was indicted for second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. He is currently being held at the Putnam County Jail with an $830,000 bond.
In a separate case, officers responded on September 11, 2022, to a residence about an unconscious male. The patient, 39-year-old Roberto Ornelas Delgado was transported to the hospital and later died. After an extensive investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division, it was determined that 61-year-old Jose Escamilla of Monterey provided narcotics mixed with fentanyl to Delgado which ultimately caused his death.
On December 4, 2023, the case was presented to the Putnam County Grand Jury and Escamilla was indicted for second-degree murder. He is currently being held at the Putnam County Jail with no bond.
