A Wayne County, Kentucky man has been charged with attempted murder after an incident that occurred last night (May 28, 2020) in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Upon arrival officers learned that the suspect, 23-year-old Zackary Baker of Monticello, found his girlfriend sitting in a car with another male. The two males then started fighting and the female left the scene on foot. One male stated the other involved male started circling him in his car and that is when Baker allegedly fired a shot from a firearm. Baker then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Baker was later discovered by deputies at a home on Daisy Way. He was arrested without incident. In addition to the attempted murder charge, Baker also faces fourth-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence. Baker was transported to the Wayne County Detention Center.
