Mrs. Ann Lee Cunningham Meisamer, April 25, 1928 – July 6, 2024
Mrs. Ann Lee Cunningham Meisamer of Pleasant Hill, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Uplands Village. She was born in 1928 to the late Ann Douglas Tanner Cunningham and Thomas Lee Cunningham. She grew up in Pleasant Hill, graduating from Pleasant Hill Academy in 1946. She attended the University of Tennessee at Martin, Draughon’s Business College in Knoxville, and received a teaching certificate from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (now Tennessee Tech) in Cookeville. Ann worked at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory before she married J. Frank Meisamer, Jr. in 1949. They lived in several cities in Tennessee and in Atlanta, Georgia, returning to their childhood home in Pleasant Hill for their retirement years. She was a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ (Congregational Christian Church.)
Ann was a gracious hostess and entertained family, friends, and Frank’s business associates superbly. She loved cooking and caring for her family, as well as traveling with her husband, children and grandchildren. Ann was always attractively attired in classic styles, and loved making clothes and costumes for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Monte Lynn Meisamer and wife, Terri; daughter, Frances Suzann (Sue) Meisamer Knuckles and husband, Bryan; grandchildren, Edward Bryan Knuckles, Jr., and Ann Lee Knuckles-Mahoney and husband, John R Mahoney IV; great grandchildren, Hazel Mahoney and John R. Mahoney, V; sister, Elizabeth R. Cunningham, and a host of friends.
A private memorial service will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to donor’s charity of choice.
