MULTIPLE FATALITIES REPORTED IN I-40 WRONG WAY CRASH IN COCKE COUNTY

The highway patrol says three people were killed and two others hurt in a wrong-way accident on I-40 in Cocke County yesterday. The report states a Ford Focus was traveling east in the westbound lanes when it collided head-on with a Toyota Tundra near mile marker 449. An 18-year-old driver and a 21-year-old passenger in the Tundra from North Carolina were hurt in the crash.
Three people in the Ford Focus were killed including 28-year-old Josey Gale, 26-year-old Starr Majors and 28-year-old Kay-Cie Hafer, all of Michigan.
The accident remains under investigation.
