“MURDER HORNETS” DECLARED ERADICATED IN UNITED STATES

The invasive Asian giant hornet colloquially known as the murder hornet has been officially declared eradicated in the United States by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as well as the Washington State Department of Agriculture on Wednesday.
According to officials, there have been no detections of the hornet in Washington since 2021.
The infamous insects capture the imaginations and fears of Americans after being discovered in Washington state for the first time 5 years ago. They instantly became a topic of discussion Nationwide due to their ability to wipe out entire honey bee nests in just a matter of hours.
They’re staying is also notoriously potent as 42 people in China were killed and 1,675 were critically injured back in 2013. According to statements from various entomologists, the Asian giant hornet is not only capable of holding a grudge but also able to remember people and animals that slighted it. It has even been referred to online humorously as the John Wick of insects.
