NASHVILLE ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF MEIGS COUNTIAN

Nashville Metro Police say 59-year-old Lois Mader of Ten Mile in northern Meigs County lost her life in a vehicle accident near the I-24/I-65 split yesterday. Officers say her Jeep Wrangler was rear ended while she was in slow moving traffic by a tractor-trailer operated by 65-year-old Alexandre Koul of West Palm Beach, Florida. The impact sent the Jeep into a pickup truck and another tractor-trailer. Four others sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Koul reportedly told police that he had made a lane change just prior to the collision but did not say why he didn’t reduce his speed as he approached traffic.

The accident is under investigation.
