NASHVILLE MAN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT OF CHILD IN CHURCH BATHROOM

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man is accused of sexually assaulting a boy in the restroom of a Nashville church in mid-October 2023, according to an arrest report.

According to the report, on Nov. 1, a court hearing was held in circuit court between 46-year-old Terrance Craion and his wife. During the hearing, it was brought up that there was alleged inappropriate touching by Craion and a 7-year-old boy.

The judge presiding over the case requested that the incident be investigated by the Department of Children Services and the Metro Nashville Police Department. The male victim told officers that he was in a restroom at his church with his younger brother and Craion.

The boy said that while they were in the restroom, Craion began touching him inappropriately, according to the report. A witness told officers that he was concerned about the victim and his brother being gone for an extended period of time, so, he went to the restroom to check on them.

The witness added that upon entering the restroom, he saw the victim and his brother with their backs against the wall and their hands behind their backs. According to the report, the witness said he saw Craion with his hand down the pants of the boy.

The witness ordered the boys to leave the restroom.

According to the report, a leader at the church was counseling Craion and his wife and the incident in the restroom came up. The leader said that the suspect was in denial and claimed in didn’t happen. However, later, Craion allegedly called the leader to make an appointment to speak with him and that’s when he admitted to the crime.

Craion is charged with aggravated sexual battery.
