NEW PLANS FOR FORMER ROANE COUNTY ROCKY TOP GENERAL STORE

If all goes as planned, the former Rocky Top General Store may become a brewery and restaurant in the next few months.

Bob Patterson, who bought the building and property came before the Harriman Council last night during the work session to let them know his plans for the former General Store. However, one stipulation has to be worked out, as the city’s beer and liquor-by-drink laws have to be adjusted somewhat to allow this type of business. If all goes as planned, the new business could be ready for patrons by mid-April. The former Rocky Top General Store was a very successful store in Roane County operated by David Webb and his wife for over 45 years before they decided to retire several years ago.
