The Knoxville Fire Department responded to a house blaze last night on the 4,000 block of Lonas Drive. A nurse saw the smoke coming from her neighbor’s home, called 911 and went inside to save the elderly woman inside. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. The fire appeared to have started near or around the kitchen. No other information was available and the investigation is ongoing.
