OAK RIDGE POLICE SEEKING INFORMATION ON NEWBORN BABY DEATH

Oak Ridge Police continue to investigate the discovery of a newborn baby whose body was found by the side of the Melton Lake Greenway back on March 26, 2020.

According to a press release, investigators named the baby boy “Wyatt,” which means “warrior.” A memorial was dedicated in the infant’s honor off of Edgemoor Road.

“We want to give this newborn a proper burial and we can’t do that until he’s identified. We’re hoping that someone in the community has information that will help us identify Wyatt and figure out who his family is and where he came from,” said Oak Ridge Police Chief Robin Smith.

Members of the public have offered to cover the cost of services to lay Wyatt to rest.
