OAK RIDGE WILL WAIVE LATE FEES DUE TO MALWARE ATTACK ON CITY’S COMPUTER SYSTEM

The city of Oak Ridge has been the victim of a malware attack that shut down the city’s computer system on Tuesday for much of the day.
It is unclear how the malware got into the system, but officials have been working to assess and repair the damage.
Emergency services were operating as normal and utilities like water and electricity were not impacted. As far as utility payments go, late fees are being waived and disconnects were not occurring during this outage.
We will update it when we receive more information.
