Union County authorities responded yesterday to a residence on Raccoon Valley Road to a report of a deceased woman and a naked man, later identified as 39-year-old Jason B. Jones, in a tree. He came down from the tree and was standing next to the home when officers arrived. Deputies found the body of 37-year-old Panzie Jones of Maynardville inside the home. Initial reports indicate the cause of death was blunt force trauma. Jason Jones was arrested and charged with criminal homicide. He was taken to the Union County jail and placed under $1 million bond.
