The University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas submitted formal requests to become members of the Southeastern Conference in 2025. The Presidents and Chancellors of the SEC schools will consider the requests in the near future. Their bylaws call for a vote of at least three-fourths of the 14 members for an invitation to be given.
