Blount County authorities say a 69-year-old man passed away after crashing his motorcycle on Calderwood Highway yesterday. Eugene David Tice, Jr. of Myrtle, Mississippi was pronounced dead at Blount Memorial Hospital. His wife, 74-year-old Susie Tice, is in critical condition at U.T. Medical Center. Officers say Tice was negotiating a curve when he hit the guardrail and rode it for approximately 20 feet before coming back onto the roadway. The motorcycle rolled over causing the Tices to be ejected.
