Owen Lee Ray age 77 of Crossville, TN passed away peacefully March 3, 2023 at his home, with his wife Shelia at his bedside. He was born July 5, 1945 in Athens, TN the son of Hurl and Elizabeth (Rodgers) Ray. He was of the Christian faith. He served in the National Guard unit 278 ACR for 42 years and acted as Shop Chief when he retired. He loved and served his country with honor. He was an avid golfer, and sports lover. He worked for Enterprise Car Rental in retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister- Doreen Lovingood and brother- Jack Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shelia (McGuire) Ray, brother- Howard Ray of Ft Myers, FL, lifelong best friend whom he lovingly called a brother, Ray Priest of Athens, TN and
his adopted family who lovingly called him Papa O- Gina, Leroy, Clay, and Tyler Leary.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date.
