PARENTS ARRESTED AFTER FIRE IN GREENE COUNTY LEAVES CHILD DEAD, ANOTHER CHILD INJURED

A joint investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of a Greeneville couple on child neglect charges related to the death of one child and the serious injury of another.

Firefighters responded Wednesday to a camper fire in the 1400 block of Woolsey Road in Greeneville.

When emergency crews arrived, firefighters located a three-year-old girl outside of the camper with severe burns. She was transported to a hospital for treatment. A three-year-old boy was found deceased inside the camper.

The investigation revealed that the children were left unattended by their father, 38-year-old Robert Ryan Inbody, at the time the fire occurred. Investigators say he left the scene in an attempt to avoid speaking with authorities concerning the incident. Officers say 39-year-old Devin Lee Cullum, the mother of the children, later withheld information from authorities regarding Inbody’s whereabouts.

Yesterday, investigators obtained warrants charging Robert Inbody with two counts of aggravated child neglect. He was taken to the Greene County Jail and placed under a $150,000 bond.

Devin Cullum was charged with accessory after the fact to aggravated child neglect. She was taken to the Greene County Jail and placed under a $100,000 bond.
