PATRICIA ANN DALTON, AGE 85
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Patricia Ann Dalton on June 10, 2021. Pat, or Mama Pat as she was known by many, was born in Pontiac, Michigan March 22, 1936.
She is survived by her daughter: Jan Dixon; son: Mike Dalton (Kathy); son: Steve Dalton (Lori); granddaughter: Amber Dixon and partner, Tasha Nelson; grandson: Chase Dalton (Taylor); grandson: Logan Dalton and partner, Angelica Angelo; granddaughter: Valerie Manns; grandson: Casey Dillon; great-grandson: Levi Dalton; great-grandson: Xavier Acuff; great-granddaughter: Olivia Manns; and great-granddaughter: Arianna Manns.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard (Dick) Dalton; father: Clair Thornton; mother: Martha Mead Thornton; brothers: Clair Jr, Robert and Walter (Stubb); sister: Maxine Blanchard; and son-in-law: Rod Dixon.
Pat worked for many years as the office manager at the Cumberland County Times newspaper, where her duties were diverse. In 1981, she joined her husband, sons and daughter in the newly formed family manufacturing business, Diversified Rubber Products, as its office manager. Now known as Durable Products, Inc. and solely owned by her eldest son, Mike, she worked there until her retirement in 2015. Pat enjoyed many varied activities throughout her life. She was in a bowling league for many years, involved in a number of community pursuits and clubs, including the Professional Business Women’s League, Girls and Boys Clubs of America and was an Auxiliary Officer with the local chapter of Veteran of Foreign Wars, to name a few. She loved the outdoors and was an avid swimmer in her youth. She enjoyed camping on the weekends, water skiing and boating. In her later years, she enjoyed playing Bingo at the VFW and fellowship with her friends. But it was the time spent with her family that she relished most. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. The family would like to acknowledge the efforts of all her many caregivers over these past years, from doctors and nurses, medical specialists, EMT’s and private care. They would especially like to recognize by name four incredible women to whom they owe a debt of gratitude; Nicki, Angel, Linda and Shelly. There aren’t words sufficient to express the family’s appreciation for all the genuine love and compassionate care you’ve shown to their loved one. Pat Dalton lived a long and fulfilling life. May she now find the peaceful rest she so richly deserves.
