Patricia E. Shannon age 84 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Monday, May 5, 2025 at her residence.

She was born on October 27, 1940 to the late Luther Asa and Irene Yarbrough Reed and has been a resident of this area since 1975. Patricia was a graduate of Spring City High School. She lived in Michigan and California before moving back to Spring City. Patricia loved to hike, garden flowers, and work jigsaw puzzles. She volunteered for Bicentennial Volunteers Inc. (BVI) doing tours at Fontana Dam and Raccoon Mountain. Patricia was a member of Central Baptist Church in Spring City where she also taught Sunday School.

Patricia is preceded in death by her brothers Powell Reed, and infant brother Kenneth Kevin Reed.

Survivors include her daughters Leia Barker of Spring City, Tennessee and Anessa (Brian) VanHorn of Rockwood, Tennessee; her sister Juanita McGinnis of Kingston, Tennessee; and her two grandchildren Conner VanHorn and Lillian Vanhorn.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at the Tennessee Valley Theatre with Rev. Mike Jackson officiating. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tennessee Valley Theatre, 184 W. Jackson Ave, P.O. Box 81, Spring City, TN 37381 or the Cumberland Trail Conference at https://cumberlandtrail.org/, or that you simply take a walk down a trail she may have loved.
