Patricia L. Palmer, 87

Patricia L. Palmer, age 87, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2025, following a battle with dementia. Mrs. Palmer was born on the 17th day of August, 1938 in Grandview, TN. Following her high school graduation in Spring City, TN, in 1956, where she was voted “Most Beautiful” by her senior class, she moved to Dayton, OH, and worked at the telephone company. While in Dayton, she met her husband and they married on October 21, 1959, and had two daughters. In 1977, the family moved to Joel Road in Oliver Springs.
In addition to being a homemaker and an excellent home cook, Mrs. Palmer worked several jobs, including as a bill collector for Anderson County Adjustment Company and as a bookkeeper for her husband and his business partner, Jerry Johnson, at P & J Builders, a successful home building business. Following their retirement in 2003, she and her husband religiously attended Tennessee Lady Vol Basketball and Softball games, often traveling out of state to attend tournaments. She loved her family (especially her grandchildren) and friends, and she enjoyed cooking for them over the years.
Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Eddy G. Palmer of Oliver Springs, and by her parents, Paul and Bonnie Ledford, by a sister, Norma Evans, and by brothers Danny and Leroy Ledford. She is survived by daughters; Wendy Vinson and husband Brian, of Oak Ridge, Tracy Stanton of Oak Ridge, and by choice, Stephanie Watkins and husband Darrel of Harriman, by grandchildren; Craig Palmer of San Diego, CA, Logan Guinn of Harriman, TN, Kaylee Stanton of Nashville, TN, Nicholas Stanton of Oliver Springs, Michael Stanton of Oliver Springs, and by choice, Bailey Watkins of Harriman, Cooper Watkins of Oak Ridge, and Ava Watkins of Harriman. She is also survived by two brothers, Ron Ledford and wife Jean of Piqua, OH, Michael Ledford of Chattanooga, TN, a sister, Anita Baker and husband Bob of Dayton, OH, and by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 2, 2025, between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. in the chapel at Sharp Funeral Home. Service will follow at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Patriot Assisted Living, 209 Gum Hollow Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
