PAYNE ARRESTED AFTER 5,000 GRAMS OF METH SEIZED BY AUTHORITIES

Sheriff Mike Neal says law enforcement in Rhea County, along with agents with the FBI and TBI, took James Lee Payne II into custody. He allegedly had 5,000 grams of meth and 1,000 grams of Fentanyl at a storage facility on McGoffin Avenue in Spring City. Payne was transported to the Justice Center in Dayton and initially placed under a half million dollar bond. No further information was initially released.
