Mrs. Peggy Basler Newberry, age 87, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23,2026, at her home. She loved spending time with her family and grandkids.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertie Basler. One daughter, Lisa Ann Newberry Brewer. Three sisters: Carolyn Sue Basler, Reba Cooper, and Eileen Davis. One brother and one brother-in-law: Franklin Basler and Kenneth Cooper.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 67 years, M.L. Newberry. One son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debby Newberry of Hixson, TN. Son-in-law, Christopher Brewer of Chattanooga, TN. Seven Grandchildren: Sarah (Johnathan) Swanson, Grace (Cody) Floyd, Brenda (Kent) Clark, Chris Brewer, Jessica Brewer, Brandon Milsaps and Chris Milsaps. Two Sisters and one sister-in-law: Linda Boring, Johnnie Melton and Barbara Basler. One brother, Lloyd Basler. Several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family, friends and loved ones.

Graveside Service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 2:00PM at Petros Cemetery (CoG).
