Phillmer Lewis Tenney, 89, of Fairfield Glade died peacefully on January 9, 2023, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a fall in his garage on December 1, 2022.

He was born on August 8, 1933, in Brainerd, MN, the son of Charles Henry and Adeline Ovidia (nee Glende) Tenney. He grew up in Fergus Falls and graduated from Moorhead College in 1951 with a teaching degree. He later found that teaching wasn’t for him and began working for the U.S. Government as an Industrial Security Specialist until he retired in 1994, at which time he moved to Fairfield Glade, TN from Virginia.

He was an avid golfer and golfed at least three times a week until a health issue would not allow it anymore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Anderson and Beverly Olson; as well as his brother, Charles Glende Tenney. He leaves behind a sister, Shirley; as well as several nieces and nephews, several great-great nieces and nephews, and one great great great niece. He also leaves behind his special friends Frank and Pat Smith, his close neighbor Bill Rocell and many wonderful neighbors in his neighborhood.

We will miss his attendance at our dinners where he sat at the head of the table. Goodbye to our “one of a kind” Uncle Phil.
