PIKEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT GETS UPGRADED FIRE TRUCKS
Thanks to the generous support of the Bledsoe County Commission and County Mayor Gregg Ridley, the Pikeville Fire Department has two upgraded fire trucks.
Earlier this year commissioners voted unanimously to award Pikeville Fire Department, eight-county fire departments, and the Bledsoe County Rescue Squad with the Tennessee Governor’s Local Government Support Grants which amounted to approximately $82,000 per agency.
With this funding, the Pikeville Fire Department was able to purchase two newer fire trucks to replace the two oldest ones in their fleet. By doing this, officials hope to improve their ISO rating, which in turn can lower the insurance premiums for the district’s homeowners.
