PIZZA STATION IN ROCKWOOD SCORES 76 ON INSPECTION

State health officials recently inspected the Pizza Station on Gateway Avenue in Rockwood.

They received a score of 76.

A passing score is any grade of 69 or greater. Officials say below 69 is a failing score.

The inspector found no date-making on proportioned ham in the refrigerator. The date of first use is required on all ready-to-eat food. The manager corrected it immediately.

The last inspection score sheet was not posted where the public can see it.

Inspectors also noted no thermometers were in any of the coolers.

The inspector also noted the food slicer was extremely dirty, with old food stuck to the blade and perhaps had not been cleaned for weeks or months.

The inspector said the pizza dough machine was “excessively dirty.”

Pizza Station will be re-inspected soon.
