Polly Welch, age 91, of Stuart, Florida, and formerly of Monterey, Tennessee, left this life on December 4, 2022. Her passing was peaceful, at home among loving family. She was born in Monterey, Tennessee, on November 26, 1931, to the late Joe and Effie Randolph. She was a graduate of Monterey High School and worked at Monterey Hospital. She lived in Monterey until 1955, moved to Dayton, Ohio, returned to Cookeville in the 1980s, and then moved to Stuart, Florida. In July 2022, she moved to Richmond, Virginia, where she lived with her daughter Teresa and her husband Tripp Wray until her passing. She is survived by her daughters, Gena Welch Booher and husband, Charles Booher, and Teresa Welch Wray and husband, Tripp Wray; one grandson, Douglas Dickerson; sisters, Wanda Flatt and Barbara Welch; brother, Harold Keith Randolph (Butch); and several nieces and nephews. Polly’s life was long and full of family, friends, faith, and fun. She asked that no funeral be held; she would prefer a celebration. Her cremains will be placed next to those of the love of her life, Harold Dixon Welch, at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 17, 2023, in the Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life brunch will follow at the Garden Inn, 1400 Bee Rock Road, Monterey, TN 38574. The family will receive friends for the services and celebration.
