PROPOSED TENNESSEE BILL MAY HELP CUT DOWN ON CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFTS
A proposed Tennessee law may help prevent thieves from stealing catalytic converters. State Bill 612/House Bill 1155 is sponsored by Senator Paul Bailey. If passed, it would require any individual or business involved in the buying or selling of used vehicle parts to keep records of such transactions for 3 years. It would include the customer’s address and driver’s license number along with any item numbers associated with the part. The bill will be considered and voted on soon.
