Ralph Clow McDonald, age 92, of Clarkrange, passed away May 23, 2026, Saturday night at Cookeville Regional Medical Center with his beloved granddaughter, Casey Rance, by his side.

Ralph was born on February 3, 1934, in Hartford City Indiana, to Reva Bell (Bobo) McDonald and Ralph J. McDonald. He attended Hartford City High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1954.

Ralph honorably served his country in the United States Army April 26, 1957 and also spent time stationed in Germany. He later worked as an Engineer #589 and also as an iron worker in Dayton, Ohio, until suffering a life-changing injury in 1972.

Throughout his life, Ralph was known for his hardworking spirit, intelligence, and creativity. He loved spending time on his sailboat, fishing, camping, and working around the farm. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and had a passion for sewing, tinkering, and building things with his hands. Ralph had a special gift with numbers and truly enjoyed teaching others what he knew, always giving advice or telling stories making jokes.

Ralph was married to two wonderful women during his lifetime. His first wife was Rosetta (Parton) McDonald, with whom he shared one daughter, Teresa Lynn McDonald with. He was later married to Mary (Moran) McDonald. And was a stepfather to Mary and Carrie.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his granddaughter and caregiver Casey’s Rance; granddaughter Courtney Rance; grandson Darren Rance; and son-in-law Victor Rance; Stepdaughter Mary. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Chloe and Sage Schmitt, Liam and Jadzia Rance, and Easton and Dade McGrandtham.

Ralph will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, wisdom, and the many lessons he shared with those he loved. His family and friends will deeply miss him and forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

The memorial service will be held at Jennings Funeral Home, 414 N. Main St, Jamestown, TN on June 2, 2026 from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm
