Randell “Randy QB1” Cunningham, 60
Randell “Randy QB1” Cunningham, age 60 of Hixson, passed away in an automobile accident on Highway 111 on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. He was born on September 5, 1966, in Rhea County, Tennessee, to the late Raymond and Wilma (Hughes) Cunningham.
He was a Rhea County native, born and raised, and proud of where he came from. He graduated from Rhea County High School in the Class of ‘84 and went on to earn his degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the Class of ‘89. For the past 18 years, he made his home in Hixson. He was a dedicated worker who gave 20 years as a manager at Mann & Hummel Manufacturing in Dunlap, then spent the past three years as a manager at Hubner Manufacturing, also in Dunlap. He was also the owner and operator of River City Media in Chattanooga, building something of his own. A beloved voice on Friday nights, he announced high school football for 35 years at Sequatchie High School and for the past three years at Hixson High School. He was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church. He bled orange as a huge Tennessee Vols fan. Above all, he was a man full of passion and love for his daughter.
He is survived by his daughter, Anna Lee Peyton Cunningham at home, and his brother, Jeff (Tammy) Cunningham of Dayton Mountain.
Funeral services for Randy will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. with his best friend, Pastor Michael Cawood, officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his parents in Summer City Cemetery after the service.
