Raymond “Dell” Lawson Jr., a devoted husband, father, and Grandaddy passed away July 22, 2025 at the age of 83. He was born in Crossville, TN. He was the son of Raymond Sr. and Ernestine Lawson. In addition to his parents, Dell is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy McDaniel. He is survived by his wife, Martha Lawson, sister Pat Fuller (Gary), brothers Jack Lawson Sr. (Joyce), Chan Lawson (Betty), and Don Lawson (Alisa).
Dell was a godly man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His unmatched kindness and love was evident to everyone who knew him. He was a prayer warrior and led many to Christ. He was a preacher for over 30 years and also remodeled houses. He could pray for you or with you and always had a lending ear. He enjoyed game nights, having church fish fries or just getting together with family. Together Dell and Martha built a home full of faith, love and memories.
Dell was a beloved husband to Martha, who shared 30 wonderful years of marriage with him. She has always been by his side. He was the proud father of Danny Lawson (wife Tammie) of Clarksville, TN, daughter Cynthia Deare of Silverdale, WA, step-daughter Tina Kent (husband Joe) of Crossville, TN. He was a Grandaddy to Deborah Lucas (husband Sean), Joshua Deare, Kacey Bunger (husband Josh), Dylan Kempe, Tyler Kent (wife Kendra), Kayla Palit (husband Shekhar), and Zakary Kent. He was also a great Grandaddy to Johnny, Padrige, Everett, Hudson, Nova and Rowan.
Funeral services will be held at Hood Funeral Home Friday, July 25, 2025 from 12-2pm, with burial to follow at Green Acres Cemetery in Crossville, TN.
