Rebecca Brown McCain, 87
Rebecca Brown McCain, 87 of Evensville passed away at her home on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Becky was born June 10, 1938 in Dayton, TN, to the late David and Betty Jones Brown and attended Rhea Central High School. She was the third of five children.
After raising her three children, Becky obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certification. She worked in labor and delivery at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. Later, she worked at Dillard’s Department Store in Memphis, where she retired.
Becky attended Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Spring City. She loved cooking, reading and hosting tea parties with her sisters.
Becky was the widow of William “Bill” McCain. They were married 50 years at the time of his passing in 2003. In addition to her husband and parents, Becky was also preceded in death by her daughter; Betty Ann McClanahan, sisters; Susie Nash and Shirley Holden, and her brother; Bobby Brown.
She is survived by two children, her son; Lieutenant Commander William S. McCain (Ret.) and wife Rita of St. Augustine, Florida, daughter; Carol Wilson of Evensville, TN., grandchildren; James, Jesse, Michael, Bethany, Riza and John, her great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sister; Frances Brown Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11 AM EST in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Spring City Cemetery.
