RESIDENT’S GARBAGE COLLECTIONS FEE INCREASING IN HARRIMAN

Garbage collection fees for Harriman residents will be going up in July. Harriman City Council members approved the increase after City Manager, Scott Mason, discussed the reasoning behind the increase. Waste Connections was the only garbage collection company that has currently been under contract with the city, to again enter into contract negotiations with them since other collections companies stated they could not get enough workers to offer the city a contract. The current fee charged at this time for Harriman residents is a little over $12 but now will increase to just over $15  in July. However, residents will be receiving new waste connection garbage cans. On a similar note, Oliver Springs residents will also see an increase in garbage collection fees by some 14.9 % beginning in July the company says they have to raise rates due to increased fuel cost
