Rev. Dennis Dewey Plemons, 100

Rev. Dennis Dewey Plemons, age 100, of Philadelphia passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at Sacred House Hospice Center in Knoxville. He was born September 18, 1925 in Bluff, North Carolina, moving to Tennessee and remaining a resident of Roane County since 1947. Rev. Plemons was a charter member and also the oldest living member of Mars Hill Baptist Church in Kingston. He was a well-known Baptist minister and had pastored several churches during his lifetime in the ministry. In earlier years he had worked as a brick, block, and stone Mason. At the age of 62, Dennis became a school bus driver for many children in Roane County, retiring after 24 years of service.
Preceded in death by his son, Dennis Dewayne Plemons Sr; great grandson, Dalton Dwayne Plemons; parents, Ogle & Annie Davis Plemmons; siblings, Ethel Gentry, Cartie Davis, Nellie Kirkpatrick, Everette Plemmons, Lou Reva Greene.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Fraker Funeral Home with funeral service following at 7:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. Rick Kirkland and Rev. Doug Greene officiating.
Graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. George Maddox officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Bro. Dennis’s wishes were for memorial contributions to be made to Fraker Funeral Home to help his wife with funeral expenses.
