Richard “Dick” Bidwell, 87
Richard “Dick” Bidwell, 87, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 15,
2025. Born on July 4, 1938, in Rochester, New York, to Orville and Eileen Bidwell, Dick was a
1956 graduate of Hilton High School in Hilton, New York, and earned his Associate’s degree as
an Electrical Technician from Monroe Community College. Dick was the beloved husband of Virginia “Ginny” Bidwell for 66 wonderful years, proud father of
four, cherished grandfather of twelve, and adored great-grandfather of five (with two more
expected soon).
Dick proudly served his country for eight years in the New York Army National Guard and gave
back to his community for several years as a dedicated volunteer fireman with the Hilton Fire
Department. For 37 years he was a skilled employee of Eastman Kodak Company, yet his heart
was always on the farm—running a second full-time job raising beef cattle before dawn and
after work, taking pride in every calf and every acre. After retiring, Dick and Ginny traveled the
United States in their motorhome, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Their most
memorable trip was the adventure of a lifetime on the Alaska Highway. Dick and Ginny were winter Texans in Rio Grande Valley at Casa Del Sol for over 25 wonderful years.
He is survived by his devoted wife Virginia (Ginny); his brother Larry Bidwell (Gayl); his children
Julie Dickerson, Greg Bidwell (Cheryl), Tom Bidwell (Denise), and Amy Beehler (Todd).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Eileen Bidwell, and his sister Nancy
Bidwell.
A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Oak
Hill Baptist Church, 3036 Genesis Road, Crossville, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to Oak Hill Baptist
Church.
