Richard Owen Rollins, 82

Richard Owen Rollins was born November 20th, 1943, in Anderson, Indiana, to Percy and Geneva Rollins.

Richard reunited with the love of his life Peggy on July 6th, 2026. Richard often spoke about the day he met Peggy, saying he found the one that completed him. He would laugh about Peggy telling him no she will not marry him over and over again. He would tell us she was just playing hard to get. They married, September 21st, 1963, and created a love story hand-picked by God. They chose a life hand in hand, side by side on earth and are now walking hand in hand, side by side for eternity through the streets of gold.

Richard led a Godly life of kindness and laughter and his love for his family was unmatched. He leaves behind a legacy so great, it’s beyond measure. Our hearts are so full of beautiful memories, some so precious we will treasure forever. Richard was one of a kind, but to us he was Dad, Papaw, or Pa, one of life’s greatest blessings and a friend to all that knew him.

Richard is preceded in death by the love of his life his beautiful bride of 62 years, Peggy Rollins; his parents, Percy and Geneva Rollins; and siblings, Jack Rollins, Pleas Rollins, Larry Rollins, Jenny Swartz, and Viola Ashley.

Richard leaves behind his children, Danny (Pam) Rollins of Monterey, Sandra Rollins of Crossville, Tim (Melissa) Rollins of Crossville and Sara (Joe) Hill of Cookeville; his grandchildren, Heather Rollins of Monterey, Brent Rollins of Monterey, Phillip (Casey) Rollins of Crossville, Tyler (Shayla) Rollins of Crossville, Isaac Hill, Corbin Hill and Roman Hill, all of Cookeville; 13 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Harmon of Illinois and Penny Rollins of Crossville.
