Celebration of Life Services for Richard “Richie” Buttram, age 61, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Bro. DeWayne VanWinkle will officiate with interment to follow in the Whittaker Cemetery. He was born on Monday, July 15, 1963, in Monterey, Tennessee, to Saundra Kay Gilmore of Monterey, Tennessee, and Billy W. Buttram of Monterey, Tennessee. He passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a project engineer with Ford Glass and later worked with Jackson Kayak. He was a graduate of Monterey High School class of 1981 and Tennessee Technological University class of 1986 earning his bachelor’s degree. He was baptized in 1989 at Tusculum Hills Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela and Michael Mountain, Krista and DeWayne VanWinkle; nieces and nephews, Stephen (Deborah) McKethan, Morgan Mountain (Johnathan Boren), Christopher Mountain, Katlyn Mountain, Blake (Lindsey) VanWinkle, Alexa (Drew) Swallows; great nieces and nephews, Brayden, Hadley, Aiden, Asher, Kreed, Karter, and due in July, Aya. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Percy and Byrnie Ruth Gilmore and Henderson and Agnes Buttram; and brother, Steven Lynn Garrett. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be given to Monterey United Methodist Church, 124 North Holly Street, Monterey, TN 38574.
