Rita Faye Burchett, 70

Ms. Rita Faye Burchett of Monticello, Kentucky, formerly of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 70 years, and 6 days. She was born in New Castle Indiana, on Sunday, October 2, 1955, the daughter of Milford & Millie (Clark) Burchett. Rita was of the Christian faith and a devoted member of Jesus Name Tabernacle Church. She loved sharing her faith and witnessing for Jesus. She also enjoyed gardening, had a deep love for animals, and found joy in watching birds, especially the nests they built in her window. She was also a devoted caretaker to her family—a motherly figure to everyone who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Brenda Marlow Williamson, niece Sheryl Hargrave, brothers-in-law, Michael Elmore, and Lewis Wiggens.
She is survived by her siblings, Connie (& Gary) Weintraut, Teresa Elmore, both of Monticello, Kentucky, Mary (& Jackie) Willoughby of New Castle, Indiana, Joyce (& Danny Stone) Wiggens of Lexington, Kentucky, Jimmy (& Laura) Burchett, and Billy Burchett, both of Monticello, Kentucky, aunts, Rosemary Clark, Martha Jones, Nancy Hicks, and Leah Burchett, nieces & nephews, Shannon, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Adam, Jennifer, Derek, Angie, Jeremy, Shaun, Christopher, Matthew, Susan, Charity, and Jonathan, 33 great nieces & nephews, 8 great-great nieces & nephews, and many friends.
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. C.S.T., 12:00 Noon E.S.T., in the sanctuary of the Jesus Name Tabernacle Church with Bro. Luther Dishman officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 11, 2025, beginning at 4:00 p.m. C.S.T., 5:00 PM E.S.T., in The Memory Chapel of Campbell-New funeral Home, and again on Sunday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. C.S.T., 10:00 a.m. E.S.T., at the Jesus Name Tabernacle Church until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Choate Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky.
