ROANE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE BEGIN D.A.R.E. PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS NOT IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Tuesday, Roane County Sheriff’s Office began the first ever D.A.R.E. program in the state of Tennessee for students enrolled outside of public schools.  This program reaches outside the walls of mainstream curriculum and supports families that previously didn’t have access to the D.A.R.E. program. This took several months of planning with D.A.R.E. leadership to get approval to make it a possibility for our area students. “The D.A.R.E. program not only educates students about drug/alcohol abuse and resistance to vape usage but also provides them with life and social skills necessary to make the right choices when it matters most.” -RCSO Chief Tim Hawn.
