Robert Roosevelt Edington, age 93, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born on March 6, 1933, in Spring City, Tennessee, to Gaither Lee and Lissie Edington.

Robert was employed as a dozer operator for Hiwassee Land Company. He enjoyed fishing and taking rides through the mountains, finding pleasure in the simple things in life. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Judy (Jeff) Kirkland; three sons, Gene (Penny) Eddington, James “Eddie” Eddington, and Danny (Tammy) Edington; brother, Kenneth Edington; sister, Thelma Smith; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaither and Lissie; his beloved wife, Ruth Mae Edington; his sons, Roger and Donnie Edington; his daughter, Margaret “Joyce” Redwine; four brothers, Bill, Austin, Ed, and Jim Edington; his sister, Naomi McDonald; and his sister-in-law, Oval Lou Edington.

Funeral services will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Mill Stone Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
