Ruby Lois Roark King, born on May 2, 1944, in Crossville, passed away on March 25, 2026. Adventurous from a young age, Ruby spent her life in her beloved hometown of Crossville, Tennessee, where she found joy as a spirited homemaker. She was a pillar of love and dedication, known for her loving nature and spirited vivacity. Ruby was the youngest of ten children, and her early years were filled with the warmth and guidance of her large family. With a heart full of love and a spirit brimming with adventure, Ruby traveled the world, always keen to explore new places and cultures. She was a woman of faith, dedicated to her church, and a talented hand radio operator. Ruby also performed in a Bluegrass band, showcasing her unique gifts and passions to all those around her.

Ruby is survived by her son: Timothy (Jennifer) Roark; daughter: Tonia (Hayden) Odom; brother: Richard Wood; and sister; Maebell Hill. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Phoenix Odom, Sabine Odom, Zoey Odom, Alex Roark, and Bryson Roark; and her great-grandchild: Jasmine Sanchez.

Ruby was preceded in death by her loving husband: Lester Roark; and her parents, Oliver and Florence Wood. She was also predeceased by seven of her siblings, leaving her one of the last of the ten Wood children.

Visitation for Ruby will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. located at 2653 N. Main St. Crossville, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the same location. Ruby will be interred at Akins cemetery immediately following the service. Ruby’s life was a testament to her adventurous spirit, dedicated service, loving heart, and spirited personality. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
