A pet zebra, owned for only two days, did what wild animals tend to do and escaped in Rutherford County, causing chaos by running through traffic on Interstate 24 near Joe B. Jackson Parkway. The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office briefly closed the interstate in both directions.

After the zebra fled into nearby woods, deputies searched but couldn’t locate it, and as of Sunday morning, the search continues, and anyone spotting the zebra is asked to contact RCSO at 615-898-7770.
